Chiastic Quotes Competition

The Chiastic Quotes Competition ran from September 1999 - March 2001. You can view a complete list of Monthly Winners and their chiastic creations. A complete list of Honorable Mentions along with their original chiastic gems is also available for your reading pleasure.

The winner of the final competition is Bill Porter. His winning entry is:

"Dr. Grothe is from North Dakota?
Much is explained. Not that people are
few and far between in that state, but when he was young,
instead of playmates to exchange words with,
he had words to exchange play with."

The First Runner-Up is Jose Castro, whose second-place entry is:

In my younger days when going
to Discos and night clubs,
a phrase we would often use was:
"She was a '2' at '10'
and a '10' at '2.'"

The Second Runner-Up is Steve Clark, whose third-place entry is:

"Sometimes the difficulty
in choosing teams
isn't having an odd number of people.
Sometimes it's having
a number of odd people."

Congratulations Bill! And congratulations to Jose Castro and Steve Clark, for submitting their wonderful 2nd and 3rd place entries.

And congratulations to all past competition winners!
